Rcacf Awards $43000 in Grants to Support Russell County Area

The Russell County Area Community Foundation has awarded $43,000 in grants to organizations that benefit the Russell County area, including support for education, the arts, literacy, and public safety.

Funding comes from the Kansas Health Foundation Children's Fund, Kansas Health Foundation Public Health Fund, Dane G.

Hansen Foundation, Russell Schools Appleseed Fund, Helen Hampl Student Aid Fund, and Russell County Disaster Relief Fund.

The City of Russell received $1,000 for Public Fire and Home Safety.

Development Services of Northwest Kansas received $1,000 for Teaching to Save Lives CPR and First Aid.

Lovegrass Music Festival received $2,069 for a festival tent.

The Russell Public Library received $8,621 for microfilm reader replacement.moky Hills PBS received $1,000 for an Early Education Program for Russell County.

Special Olympics Kansas received $2,000 for the Northwest Kansas Clinic and Wellness Program.

And USD 407 received $7,915 for First Grade Decodable Library, $5,500 for Teach Like a Pirate, $1,169 for Russell County Career Videos, and $4,000 for the Keep Our Kids Safe Door System.

applications for the next grant season open August 1 and close September 30.
